I wouldn’t necessarily call myself a bargain hunter, but I do love a good bargain, and you can’t get a better bargain than free :). If you love visiting Ireland’s Heritage Sites, you’ll be quite pleased to hear that many of them are free on the first Wednesday of every month. Places like Charles Fort in Cork (pictured above from one of my recent trips to Kinsale), Kilmainham Gaol in Dublin, the Rock of Cashel in Tipperary and so many more, are all free each first Wednesday. Click the link to get the full list of free Irish Heritage Sites. You’ll find details about all the sites on heritageireland.ie.
Even if you can’t get there on a ‘free’ day, be sure to visit some other time (and then do pay). These wonderful, historical monuments are so well worth visiting, and your entrance fee helps keep them open for us all to enjoy.
If you know of other attractions that usually require an entrance fee, but have a free day from time to time, I’d love to hear from you. Please send me a message, or add a comment below.
