Ireland is more accessible to visitors now than it ever has been. There are so many options available for getting to Ireland, and when you get there you won’t have a problem getting around either. For those of you who haven’t been to Ireland since the 80’s or 90’s you’ll probably remember trying to navigate tiny rural roads on your way around the country. Thankfully, at least for the sake of Ireland’s beauty, those types of roads do still exist. However, these days when driving between major towns or cities, you can avoid having to drive through every little town and village along the way, thus decreasing the amount of time you spend in the car, and letting you enjoy more of what you actually came to Ireland for.

Air transportation has improved too. For many years there have only been two landing cities for visitors arriving from the USA – Shannon and Dublin. That hasn’t changed (at least in the Republic), but there are more routes available, and there are plenty of options to get to Ireland by air from around Europe.
So here you go…a list of transportation options that will help you get to Ireland, and a bunch of websites that may be of use while you’re touring around.
note: these are not complete lists, just starting points. If you have a favorite car rental company, airline etc, search for it online, and you may find that company in Ireland.
